Hi,
I pick the berries off the long stem along which they grow and then boil with some water, then put through cheese cloth - is it necessary to remove these stems - I find it a very time consuming process.

Was looking for help and inspiration for a heavy load of currents off a small bush. IF I never do anything with them, your pages were still a GOOD READ ... Thank you.

Hi,
I found another way to make juice. I take out all the branches and the little woody end on the bottom, I did try cooking it on low for a few minutes, then into the blender and added one cup of orange juice. Blended it all up and added 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt for a smoothy. It is tart but that's how I like it. The Black currants, I am going to freeze in OJ till I am ready for them this winter.

I dunno what to do with benign spam like this.

I just strip the links. Is that evil?

Or should I just delete? I mean, it COULD be someone just naive or something. Dunno.

How has the food mill worked for you? I use the pestle/cone strainer shown in this post for smaller projects and borrow Mom's Victorio strainer for big stuff. I wonder if a food mill might be more convenient.

I believe the piece of equipment you are looking for is called a "food mill." I found it in the a local grocery store that has a large canning section. You can see a picture of it on Wikipedia.
